We have determined the life of an RV furnace is 16 years.
Our furnace started "squealing" if the outside temps were under 40 degrees.
We decided to order a newer model furnace- but it turned out that no one had it is stock...so we decided that we would put up with the "squealing baby pig" for a bit longer.
Evidently the furnace decided to force our hand- It decided to add a burning smell to the squeal. We were now forced to get a new furnace- It lasted 16 years- so we ordered the same model.
Now the story takes a slight detour-Do NOT waste your money on 2-day shipping if you order on a Wednesday afternoon before the processing cut-off. It doesn't mean anything.Second- just because the box does not have any dings on it does not mean there isn't any damage-
.
Luckily DH knows how to fix these things-so the installation continues-
The installation continues without too many hiccups. We now have a furnace without the squeal.
(PS- does anyone know how long the 'burn-off' smell will continue? It continues to go longer before the smell-but I am so over it!)
