Shower Curtain Rod-

We started out with a shower door-

...which we removed to make room for this-
What is nice is that this rod extends out so you have more "elbow room" ...
...but you can also reverse that action once you are done! .

Safety First!

We have purchased and mounted a much larger Fire Extinguisher!

Floor Register Flashing

Today I took care of a simple thing on the "TO DO" list...sealing the vent registers. These are the items I used:

Here is a photo of the flashing put onto the register "sidewall":

And here are a series of photos of the process as it was done on the bedroom register that is surrounded with carpet: . . .

Full Awning Install

The full size awning is on the rig. We had to go with the wall mount position instead of the awning rail. Most of the bolts are hidden inside cabinets-the one set of bolts that are exposed will be eventually covered.

You can see some of the brackets from this angle-

Here is the power switch mounted just inside the door-

And here is the awning extended:

A Lesson in Latches

I ordered some roller latches from Amazon that we would use to put a drawer front on. Our Monaco had a spot back in the bedroom that had used them to snap a panel in place- which is where I got the idea.
I am here to inform you that not all roller latches are the same.

There is one big subtle difference between these two...

You might notice where the screw tabs are on the roller attachment.
The one on the left will not work in RVs- The wood framing is not thick enough.

Here is a photo of the correct latch attached:

And here is a photo of the drawer front:

FYI- We bought the correct latches from Dyers Online.

Awning Work Continues

We had issues using the old awning rail-  so we have used the actual wall mounts that came with the awning. Here is a photo:

(Please excuse the night shot-but I was too excited  about visiting with my granddaughter after we had the awning up!)

Wall Sconce Install

We were amazed at the size of the hole in the wall when we disconnected the old fixture.

...But our amazement did not stop there-

The light fixture itself is of poor quality.  I have been married to a Carpenter long enough that I even  noticed the glass fixture was not mounted level.

It did not state LED bulbs but I thought the price was high enough that there was a decent chance of it having  LEDs - It does not.  It is also designed poorly.  You will have to remove the fixture from the wall to change the bulb unless you have fine delicate fingers and hands.

Shower Door Removal

We have hated the shower door slider from the beginning so we decided to change it out before our trip in a couple of months.
This is what it looked like-

Here are a few photos of the clean up process-
.We used Goo-Gone Caulk Remover to help clean up the sides and top front of the bathtub/shower area. .

And here is how it looks before we add the shower curtain & rod:

Living Room Lighting

We are updating the old fashioned light fixture that is on the wall between the sofa and dining table.
Here is a photo of the current light fixture:

Here is the manufacturer's photo of the replacement fixture:

I have taken this photo of it as it is waiting to be installed-

Cabinet Handles

Guess what happens when you take this-

...and subtract these from the mix?

You get these!

Yes- We are changing out the old cabinet handles for these new ones.  Here is a photo of the new and old- side by side.
