Drapes On TV Window (Passenger Side)

How crazy is it that one can get excited over a window covering?

Today the "drapery rod" was installed over the passenger side front window.  This is the same window that the television will cover when it is in the raised  position.
Here is a photo of the window from a year ago-

-Here is part of the curtain rod and hardware-

-and here is the curtain with the TV! (Please excuse the overhead plugs- we will not finish the wiring until the Entertainment Center is installed.)

Some Fun Stuff....

...It may not be a fun project to install-but it will be a nice addition to "the Diamond" once it is in!

We have ordered a Voyager Back-up Camera with sound.  This purchase was made through RVCams.com.  I emailed a few questions to Tim Lazaroe. He made up a quote and when I called in I was able to give Chuck my quote number and have it shipped in a matter of a couple of minutes.
It has been a pleasure dealing with this company!

More Electrical-

We are preparing for the new residential refrigerator install so we had to do some re-wiring to make the fridge run off the inverter.

Here is a photo that shows some of the wiring. You can see a lot of "spaghetti" wiring just hanging all over- (A junction box had already been installed at this point in time.)

This next photo show a much neater pile of wires that have been neatly bundled-

-And this final photo shows where the original electrical outlet has been converted to run from the inverter - but we also have a normal "general purpose" outlet that can be used for other things.

Stove Vent Cover Replacement

This is what the outside vent cover looked like when we bought the Damon-

-and here are a couple of photos as of today-

This photo show the vent with the flap open because the fan is on-

-and these photos show the cover with the flap locked on place-

Second Down - Two To Go

The second of four See-Level gauges is now hooked up and functioning!
You can see the sending unit hooked to the propane tank in this photo-

Here is how the panel looks when you have a full tank of propane!
FYI- the two wires that are hanging down on the left side of the tank are some of the wires being run for waste water tank units.

One Down and Three To Go-

We have one of the four functions working on the See-Level panel...

...and it looks to be very accurate straight out of the box!

  • 2-RECMAR 4124 I Beam Wall Bracket
  • 2-RECMAR 4134  End Stop
  • 1-RECMAR 4108 Bendable I Beam Track
Any guesses what this project may be for?

Windshield "Drapes"

I had no idea just how much I really hated the original  windshield drapes until I looked back at the early photos I took-

I hated them so much that I was using the metallic windshield screen as my main blind!

Here is a photo that I found that has the original green drapes on the left side of the windshield-

..and here are the new curtains (Please give them time to un-wrinkle!)

Cabinets in Progress...

Meet Michael of  "Custom Cabinets by Design"...

Look at Michael's face-he is not "Grumpy" like his shirt reads.
You can tell that Michael loves what he does. I love Michael's passion for his work, his art and his family.

This is why we have chosen Michael to build our cabinets!

Progress!

It has been a good week in regards to things being set in motion!
  • The sofa has been ordered.
  • The topper awning has been ordered.
  • The bedroom cabinetry is being built.
What this means is:
I will have a sofa to sit on that will be in the awning covered slide-out while I fold clothes to put into the new bedroom drawers!

GrrrRooommm ...Roooomm Rooommmmmm

That would be the sound of the generator kicking on after running the electrical wiring from the generator to the transfer switch!
...Close-up of the wiring coming in from the generator to the transfer switch above.

...and here is the transfer switch box shown with the wiring coming in on the left

Finally- you can see the new manual cord reel in front of the wiring and the transfer switch.

Bedroom TV Cable Wiring

There was a small older TV that was mounted on a home-made shelf back in the bedroom when we bought the rig last year.
You can see how someone decided to run the cable wire from these photos-

TV on aftermarket shelf (Note the cable plug behind TV)

Close-up of cable wires that was run-

Here is some "funky" loop of that cable that was run through the closet on the back side of the TV.

...and these last photos shows how that cabling was "attached"  as it was run under the bed.

This has been removed and cabling has been re-located so that the finish product looks like this-

An Unexpected Expense

We have been talking about getting a Toad for when we will be out and about in the Daybreak and we know how important it is to the right set-up.
Imagine my surprise when we took a closer look at the hitch that is on the Diamond...
I am not comfortable in the thought of how small & light the car would have to be to fit that criteria.
I guess we will be looking at new hitches this spring.

A New "Command Central" Location

There are many items that we are using in the remodel that has their own "control boards".
We have decided to put these boards in one central location.
In the photo above you can see the:
  • Magnum Energy Inverter/Converter  Control Center
  • The See-Level Tank Level Center
  • The Water Heater Control Board
I am still not sure what else will end up here - but you will see it once we have all of them installed.

Propane Tank Cleaning

I apologize for not getting "before & during" pictures before my husband got the tank painted but I was able to find some of the rust and paint flakes that were left on the ground.

...I do admit I think the tank looks much better in this color!

Water Heater Replacement

I realized after my last post that I had never posted about replacing the hot water heater- so here is some info.

You can see how rusted the unit is here -
You can see the unit from inside the kitchen cabinet here

The pipes look pretty convoluted when there is nothing connected to it. (It reminds me of the childhood game called "Mouse-Trap". )

Here is what it looks like with a new unit in. There is certainly a difference in the first and last photos- don't you think?

Water Heater Switches ...

Last year we replaced the water heater.  The old one looked to be in pretty bad shape and it had an aftermarket electric unit added to it.  We decided to replace the water heater but took our time getting the actual switches mounted.

Here is a photo of the aftermarket switch that was added to turn on the previously installed electric unit ...

...here is the hole that was left when we removed the switch. (We will add a pullout in this area to compensate for this cut-out.)

We finally mounted the new switch-
and here it is showing that the unit did not light when we decided to test it with the propane off.

Yep- It is working!

Bruises Be Gone!

...I don't know about you - but I tend to bruise easily. Maybe  I am just a bit clumsy...but I like to think that I am more like a magnet...I am drawn to anything that is protruding near my hips!

This is the reason why we have removed the lower towel bar that was on the bathroom door.

Water Tank Project Continued...

...Here is another step of the water tank relocation project that will be done soon -

We will be adding a Garnet Instruments See-Level Gauge system to the Damon soon.
It is shipped with 3 "sending strips" - One for the fresh water and the other two are for the gray & black water holding tanks. The system uses the original electric senders that are already on the propane tank. (The Rustoleum can & the sandpaper is to "clean up" the old propane tank.)

..Don't Worry Babe..I've Got This One!

Yep...this one was a simple one...even I could do it by myself!
Notice the wall trim behind the stove-top?
It is not going to match my décor (not that I know what it will be yet...I just know - this was not it!)
So I removed it!
