Last year we replaced the water heater. The old one looked to be in pretty bad shape and it had an aftermarket electric unit added to it. We decided to replace the water heater but took our time getting the actual switches mounted.

...here is the hole that was left when we removed the switch. (We will add a pullout in this area to compensate for this cut-out.)
We finally mounted the new switch-
and here it is showing that the unit did not light when we decided to test it with the propane off.
Yep- It is working!
