We found our water leak-
Can you see the "green" spot in the upper middle of the photo? You are seeing the leaves through the opening that is around the passenger windshield corner.
We can now seal that spot so we can continue with the front cabin area soon.
My husband & I recently purchased a 1999 Damon Daybreak motorhome and I have decided this may be the easiest way to document our own "polishing" of the "diamond in the rough" -or in plain english ..."Our Remodel" of this RV.

News Flash! Interior Color Change
Seats Are Shipped- Maybe??
We received an Email on Monday- The front seats were shipped EXCEPT a few hours later we got another email stating the email was sent in error!
We did receive an email on Tuesday though-the seats are actually in transit...and sitting in Chicago for the night. Does this mean I can mark off Illinois as a state the RV has been in? (I'm just kidding folks!)

Driver Chair Removal
Sunday morning was spent doing a multitude of things -one of which was removing the driver seat chair.
I remembered to get a few photos along the way this time.
You may not be able to tell just how tight this hardware was sealed to each other...
...but trust me- removing the four bolts was not an easy job (especially when I had to crawl underneath and found all the cobwebs!)
Here is a view from the top.

Glaringly Obvious Problem-
Yes- We have a "obviously glaring " problem when the sun is on west side of the coach in the afternoon.
There are 2 solutions that we can think of:
1. Replace the curtains but that may still not fix the problem
2. Put window awnings on the street side of the coach.
I am sure that we will eventually do both!

Formica-Wallpaper Match
You saw from my last post that we have run into "wall-siding" issues. We will replace the "wall" but it looks like will replace it with a Formica panel.
Here is a photo of the Formica chip next to the "wallpaper".
-And here is a close-up:
Finally here is a photo of the two blended together-
I think we made a great choice!

Ruh-Roh...
There are things that may go un-noticed until you remove other things. This turned out to be a big thing in this case.
We decided to pull the "paper" off just to see what was underneath and this is what we found-
It looks like we may be able to peel back to 2 layers in order to do the repair.
We have decided to put a formica sheet up instead of the same wood product.

...And So It Begins...
- yep, more carpet removal! This time it is in the front cabin area.
We started by ripping out some of the carpeting & padding-
I then had to crawl in the wheel well so that I could help loosen & remove the chair base bolts.
It is not an easy task to remove the chair base when they have sprayed undercoating on two of the four screws!

Cabin Color Scheme Is Complete
We went out looking for the carpeting to be used on the doghouse today. This carpet will also be used around the bed in the bedroom area. This is the online carpet sample-
-and here is the photo of a leather swatch & the carpet swatch lying on top of the flooring-
(The photo taken at home does make the carpet look like it is purple- it is not!)

Sani-Con Hose Replacement
A member on an RV forum suggested that we replace the 3" hose that came with our Sani-Con system.
You may not be able to tell it from the photo above but the hose is made from a very poor quality material that lets the smell permeate through.
We already knew we would change the hose out- we even had it ready to be exchanged out-
We decided it is much more sanitary to swap it out before we ever used the OEM hose- -And here is a tip - use a hair dryer set on hot to stretch out the hose end to make it easier to slip over the end of the fittings.
