Addition Problem

What do you get when you take this -

plus this -

and add this?

The answer would be the sweet sound of a macerating dump system!

When Is No Shower A Good Thing?

...when you can take a shower head like this -

-remove it like this-

-and open up room for miscellaneous wet bay supplies in an area like this. We were able to count how many times we had used any outdoor showerhead in our 20 years of RVing on one hand so we decided to remove this one.  We will put a plastic bin in that open area to hold different items that you may normally find in the wet-bay area.

"Batten Down the Hatches"...

...or in the modern RV world it would be "Batten Down the Latches".
The Damon has some doghouse latches that I had never seen before. They are fairly large with big rubber balls that pull over a metal bracket. This action is supposed to pull the two sides together. (My husband told me he saw them in the military service - they were used on Jeep hoods.)

My problem is with the one on the passenger side.  It was installed wrong and the round part will not pull far enough to lock into place.

It then leaves the metal bracket ends exposed-which sticks out enough that I scrape my shin on it whenever I am in the passenger seat.

Fast forward to now- we are planning to re-do the flooring and carpet in the front area of the RV before we install the new chairs and since my spouse loves me so much he decided to find different latches.

These lie flat when the doghouse is battened down. I don't expect to see any scraped shins in the near future!

More About The Seats

We have been researching and trying to make a choice on our seats before we went to Quartzsite. We were very disappointed in what little choices we had to sit in and compare  at Quartzsite. (Evidently the front cabin seats are not a "hot ticket item" in QZ.)

We spoke to Countryside Interiors while in QZ - but I am a comparison shopper so some research was needed after speaking to them again on the phone.  I found a couple of things that bothered me- They do not use the same model number as Flexsteel- so you really are unsure of which seat you are actually looking at on their webpage.  Another small irritation is that I could not view the full version of their website from my tablet. It would force me to the mobile version of the website- no matter what I did.
I did a search and found Bradd & Hall in Indiana. We called after I found out they would send free color samples. Stephanie also took the time to explain some of the "leather features & benefits" of each style of leather.

She sent many different samples and those samples also made me change my mind of the seating color.

Here is  a photo of the color we chose-

DogHouse Insulation Project

I thought the engine noise was too loud on our maiden voyage so one thing the Dear Husband did this week was to insulate the doghouse.
He purchased a roll of CSI Heat & Sound Insulation along with can of high temperature spray on glue.

He removed the original foil that was held on by the screws of the doghouse latches and added the thicker insulation. He then also re-installed the old foil on top of the new foil.

You can see the difference in the thicknesses of the two products in the photos below.

I am looking forward to quieter ride!
