Here is a photo that shows most of the carpeting ripped out. The chipboard sub-floor was laid with the wording "This side down" in the UP position.

Here you can see the birch subfloor has been laid.

Finally you can see a protective coating has been put onto the birch sub-floor. It has also given the sub-floor a much richer look.
(PS- This does not mean we are not putting the linoleum down, DH!)
