New Steps!

So our Kwikee step finally died after 21 years so I guess we can't complain about having to replace them.

We did put in a 2-step set  to make it easier for our elder pets (that are no longer with us to get into the RV.)

Window Blinds Features

I thought about what I wanted the new blinds to do before I ordered them.

First and foremost...they needed to cut down on the heat...

(so we got the double cone shades!)

...next...they needed to block out the light...(picture before...

and after...

I also decided that I did not need the 'day-night' blinds because we had the exterior window awnings - BUT I wanted to make sure I still had some since of privacy so I opted to have the shades so that they could also drop down from the top or raise from the bottom!

......I am very pleased  with my choice!

Bedroom Blinds (Part 2)

There was one more window blind that we needed to install in the bedroom area and it was the most important one to me.  It is the one you see as you look back into the bedroom once you are in the coach!

You can see the speakers wires in the right corner above the windows along with the wiring for the light scone on the opposite side.

You can see where we have gotten rid of the speaker wires and the sconce wiring has been tucked behind the mounting board for the blind...

Now we are ready to mount the blind...and here it is mounted with the blind down.

You can also see that I finally have a view outside of the back of the 'Diamond'!

What a Difference a Layer Makes!

DH has been busy working on a few of my "Honey-Do's" on the 'Diamond' before our upcoming trip.

This week has been getting the new bedroom shades installed.
You can see from this picture what the shades in the RV looked like.

There was only one layer of material to keep the sun and heat out.  This picture shows  just how the sunlight comes through on a closed blind.

Here is a side view of the new blinds material.

The install was more of a multi-layer installation...first check on the length ...

..and then the "shims" to put on the mounting board

...and then finally the finished valance.

Sawzall??

We finally found someone who was qualified to install the Banks system but DH wasn't happy as to where the Banks Super Scoop was installed...so he proceeded to cut a hole in the front fiberglass bumper.

He then attached the scoop to the fiberglass with a glue and along with layers of fiberglass to help secure it .

He continued to smooth out the front cut with bondo and sand paper.

He then painted it so it did not look like a big black hole in the front of the Damon.

You hardly notice the Super Scoop hole now!

Rear License Light Replacement

The rear license plate light decided to crack off while SacsTC was away in the Damon getting another project updated so we had to replace the old light. (see pic below to see the crack to the right)

He ordered a new replacement light from Amazon. It is almost identical but we updated to an LED light that is encased in stainless.

I decided I would update our license plate frame to what you see below...

SacsTC  is not a fan..but he still put it on. (Gosh...I love him so much!)
(Here is the new LED lighting the new frame at night)

Look for us when we are on the road!

Battery Maintenance

This is a friendly reminder to keep your batteries healthy by equalizing them each year.

Here is a photo of our house battery bank as we start the procedure...

(You can hear the batteries gurgling if you listen closely! )

Here is what our panel looks like as we are doing this procedure ...

...and finally where we are once the procedure is done...

SIDE NOTE- Please look up the proper procedure in your inverter manual. The procedure may be different depending on your brand.
